The Cisco VPN client will allow you to connect to SWOCA's network to access SWOCA0, DASL, and SWAN. If you require a username and password, please contact your network administrator or email net@swoca.net. The following is a step-by-step walkthrough for installing the software. If you should encounter any additional prompts to disable software such as the Windows IPSEC client, be sure to agree to them.

1. Download the VPN Software to your Desktop by clicking here, be sure to download the client for your platform ie: vpnclient-windows.

2. Double-click on the downloaded program to run it. Fill in C:\ciscovpn as shown, and click 'UNZIP.'

3. Click 'Close' then delete the program from your desktop.

4. Double-click "My Computer" then double-click the folder named "ciscovpn" and run the program setup.exe

5. When the installer starts, click 'Next', 'Yes' , 'Next' , 'Next', do not change any of the options.

6. When the installation has completed you will be prompted to reboot your computer. Select "Yes" and then click 'Finish.'

7. After rebooting, go to Start - Programs - Cisco Systems VPN Client, and click "VPN Client" after the program loads, click 'New.'

8. Fill in the fields as shown, for your group name and passwords put swoca in lowercase and click 'Save.'

9. Connect to your internet provider, then launch the VPN Dialer by going to Start - Programs - Cisco Systems VPN Client, and clicking "VPN Client." Click 'Connect.'

10. Fill in your Username and Password when prompted, and click 'OK.'

11. Once you have successfully connected, a small gold lock will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen in your system tray. You can now run your SmartTerm or other terminal emulation programl, and connect to the DASL and SWAN webpages.

12. After you are finished working, right-click on the gold lock in the system tray and choose 'Disconnect.'


To use the VPN in the future, simply repeat steps 9 through 12.
